We hope that everyone had a nice weekend. We stayed busy the better part of the weekend.
Friday, I worked part of the day, but in the afternoon, we stopped at a store just up the street that's closing. Glen had gotten me a gift certificate for Christmas so we could take a cooking class together. Well, the store is closing, so the cooking class is out of the question. So, what can you get with a gift certificate when everything in the store is 60% off?? See answer below. What a great way to stock up our spice cabinet and pantry with yummy finds.
We can't wait to get cookin'!
This weekend was super productive and enjoyable! We were able to pick up all of our veggie and herb plants and get them planted on Saturday. We can't wait until everything is ready to pick. We ended up getting 2 different tomato plants so we can make and can some spaghetti sauce this summer as well as pickling cucumbers. We hope to can those as well. There's something about herbs and veggies fresh from your own garden!

And this is the veggie box with our veggie plants. This year we not only filled the veggie box, but we have several pots filled with veggie plants as well. This box has the Big tomatoes, Pickling Cucumbers, Straight Yellow Squash, Yellow Sweet Peppers, Jalapenos and Fajita Peppers. We've also got a cucumber bush, roma tomatoes and we're contemplating a few other veggies as well.
Sunday, we went to my mom and dad's for a good ole' fashioned BBQ! It was a nice day - the sun was out and the weather was mild. We got to enjoy the company of both sets of parents and my mom & dad's neighbors and their three children. Great company and yummy food!! We even got to make a stop at the O'Days Petting Farm.
They have three new baby goats that they added to their farm that are absolutely the cutest!
Today, we enjoyed the last day of our long weekend with some BBQ'ing and relaxing! Not sure if we'll be relaxing quite like this, but this is Gizmo's idea of a good weekend!

Isn't it sharp?? 
It's black on black, has a leather interior, the Sync audio system, which is super neat - we've never had a car that you can talk to and have it talk back- hmmm, maybe that's a bad thing....... :) - We still need to figure out the use of sync with the cell phone, but we've got the Sync & iPod down to a science already.
