The First Harvest of the Year!

So, today we had the first of our veggies from the garden! A Jalapeno! So, even though summer seems like it's stalled, being able to take something out of the garden and cook with it, confirms that summer has arrived!
And something about a veggie box that is growing out of control and a tomato plant that is over 5 feet tall - summer is here!
And the entertainment for the evening, our poor goofy boy sitting under the table and chasing shadows. We must have laughed for a good 1/2 hour watching him circle the table, the shadows and chasing his tail shadow.

What a Weekend!

It was great to see a friend of ours Thursday who we hadn't seen in quite some time! Tim (aka Tip, aka 'The Bar Stool Surfing Dude') ended up coming by Thursday for dinner, adult beverages and some Wii. The boys are actually bobsledding or doing the luge in the photo below.

We took it easy on Friday (I had the day off) so we tinkered around the house, finished some projects, started others & ran errands. Saturday - more rain arrived, so we were holed up inside for the day - we did make a trip to Kroger. Because of the rain, Gizmo spent much of the day in the position below. He's our weather forecaster - and the weather was RAINY. Yep, BOTH of his back feet are in the air.

Of course to wrap up the day we ended up with an evening filled with Uno Attack and some friends. Apparently it was a good winning night for the 'skis' and not so good for the 'ings'. None the less, we had a fun time.

Needless to say, it was a good, productive weekend! Hope yours was filled with friends and fun!

What fun we had....

Spending the evening on Thursday with our favorite little Nephew (who will be a BIG BROTHER in February - CONGRATS again Amy & Andy!) We just heard the exciting baby news today!
He and Uncle Glen must have coordinated their outfits! Colin even had on his Hot Dog t-shirt, one of Uncle Glen's favorite foods!

We played Uno Attack (okay, well didn't play, but pushed the button, had cards shoot out and laughed so hard we drooled......okay, maybe it was Colin that was laughing so hard he was drooling, but Uncle Glen and I sure were laughing!)This photo had the boys concentrating and discussing the colors of the cards.

We also got to play 3 little pigs and Colin was blowing down the house (tent), hence the pile on Aunt Min.We had such a fun night with Colin, we're looking forward to the next time he gets to come and play!
