Spring?

Hmmmmmm, while the calendar says Spring is officially here, I think good ole' Momma Nature is a bit confused. This was the snow progression yesterday afternoon starting about 4 pm (so much for the snow arriving at midnight like the forecasters originally said). We ended up with about 2" after everything was all said & done. Hmmmph, not sure about you, but we are MORE than ready for Spring. We've got bulbs that are already coming up.......crazy Michigan weather!
This past week has been pretty busy - we've had a lot of things going on. Wednesday was the first Kronk Gym Fundraiser that took place at the Townsend in Birminghan. You can check out some of the "seen & be seen" photos from the event here. It was a great event - I think everyone enjoyed themselves and funds were raised to help with the gym.
Then, Saturday, I hosted my Entertaining at Home Party. It was a nice afternoon I got to spend with some girlfriends and our mom's as well. Dad and Glen were banished to the 'Man Cave' ;o) and spent the afternoon searching for sports to watch, unfortunately, Food Network was the best they could do.
And HOW ABOUT THOSE SPARTANS?! Although we are a Maize & Blue household, we are more than happy to root for the Green & White when they're not playing the Wolverines. Needless to say, you know what we'll be tuned into this weekend!
Well, hang in there on this cold winter like Monday!

Congrats to Tom & Teri!

My cousin Teri, her husband Tom and big brother Adam welcomed a new baby girl into their family this morning at 4:58 am. Baby was 9lbs, 11oz, 21" long. Mom & baby are both doing fine. Can't wait to see the photos. Congrats again!!
I hope everyone had a nice weekend! Of course, it's NCAA Tourney time - I think my bracket is worthy of being delivered to the circular file at this point after the weekend. But Glen, he's still hanging strong! We were hoping for some nice spring time weather this weekend to finish up a few more things around the house - imagine our surprise when we woke up Saturday morning to snow flurries!? What the Heck?! It warmed up in the afternoon and we were able to open the windows a bit - only in Michigan I tell ya! Things have been busy at our house. Amazing how much cleaning you can do with a new vacuum!! ;) We're getting ready for my Entertaining At Home party this Saturday afternoon. If you can't make it to the party, but want to check out some of the great serving dishes, trays and other items, check out Christie's website. They've got some great entertaining products!!
We're also helping my folks this Wednesday with the Kronk Gym Fund Raiser selling Kronk merchandise, so we're wrapping things up here, updating sale signs, printing tags - all that fun stuff! Have to run to the mall at lunch today and see if I can't find something to wear.
We also found out that my dad is an internet star Saturday. Turns out the man who told President Obama he'd take him on in bowling from the special olympics group, bowls with my dad. Here's the link to the video they did on Kolan McConiughey. You can View the video here. Special Olympics Champ to Barack - bring it on! I think it's a great story about
Well, that's about all the excitement here - not sure we could handle too much more excitement on a Monday! ;o) Hope you have a great day!

Our New Addition

It doesn't have a name yet, but boy does it SUCK! This thing will suck the nose off Michael Jackson!!

How funny is this that the older we get, the less it takes to excite us? Isn't it cute? And I LOVE the color!! It matches the decor - nice & tropical! It was a super productive weekend here at the Kay house. Yesterday morning, I had hairapy, which was seriously needed. Yesterday afternoon, we had an appointment with our tax lady to finish our taxes. So after we left her office doing the Happy Tax Dance, we stopped at the vacuum store. We've been talking about getting a new vacuum. We wanted to check out the Dyson and see how we liked it. Having Giz and Tuck, we have a ton of fur and vaccum on a super regular basis. Anyway, an hour and a half later, we left with our Riccar. What you may ask? Riccar - it's a canister vacuum (they have uprights too), but this thing is so cool - it doesn't blow stuff around on the tile, one swipe on the carpet and the whatever is gone. It's absolutely amazing!! Funny how a new gadget makes a chore not so bad, huh? After that Glen got his hair did and we went to the pet store to pick up a few more fish. We ended up with 9 more and BOY has our tank been active. We picked up some Sunset Platty's, a blue dwarf gourami for our guy who lost his Buddie not too long ago, two scissor tail, two sword tail (I think that's what they are) and I can't remember what the other two are. But, they sure are busy!

So, today, the vacuum came out again and we've been on our spring cleaning mission, despite losing an hour - Spring is RIGHT AROUND THE CORNER! (Did you remember to turn your clock forward and change your smoke detector batteries?) Talk about progress! And this weekend really was a good weekend for cleaning. It was so rainy & yucky.
We hope your weekend was productive. Now we're listening to THUNDERSTORMS! Ah, good ole Michigan weather!
